Welcome to Imperial Ranch, an island in a sea of commercial development, located 5 miles south of Shafter, California, and 8 miles north of Bakersfeld, California. We have been developming our training faciility since February 1997, blending the old vaquero ways with the new ideas of the younger horsemen.
About Us
It began as a dream of a young man by the name of Chuck Hitchcock who, after a lifetime of being in the auto parts business with his father, turned his back on a thriving business to do what he always wanted to do, train horses. He was a horseman, by all definitions. He loved his work and began a lifetime of asscociation with local horse lovers and cattlemen. He learned how to train a cow horse.
