Welcome to Imperial Ranch, an island in a sea of commercial development, located 5 miles south of Shafter, California, and 8 miles north of Bakersfield, California. We have been developing our training facility since February 1997, blending the old vaquero ways with the new ideas of the younger horsemen. Our focus is on the horse and developing their natural talents and abilities.

My dad, Chuck Hitchcock, would say every horse has a job, but it is our task to find out what that job might be, whether it be cutting, reining, pleasure, cow horse, or down the road. The only way that can be accomplished is by having a broke horse. There is no secret at our facility - only mutual respect of horse and rider.

We offer a complete breeding, training, boarding, lesson and showing program.
